Hipodromo de Tandil, Buenos Aries, Argentina

Horse Racing in Argentina Hipodromo de Tandil is a thoroughbred racecourse in the city of Tandil, Buenos Aries Province, Argentina. It originally opened in 1866 which gives the course a claim to being the oldest racecourse in South America. It has a 2400m (1.5 miles) dirt track.

Hipodromo de Tandril ceased racing activities in 1984 and the site was allowed to deteriorate into a state of disrepair. On Sunday, 5th March 2006, following 22 years of inactivity, Hipodromo de Tandil re-opened with the staging of a ten-race card, attracting a crowd of 35,000 people. The racecourse also plays host to music concerts at the venue.
