Matt how are ya what’s the card like tonight can we smash them up again
Hey Harry, similar to the last Santiago meeting I’m confident several of these have leading chances at great prices. The bookies were let off the hook a little last time due to some hard luck stories and fitness issues and there is the possibility that could happen again.
Thanks matt good luck mate
Good luck to you too Harry, prices held up reasonably well so far at least on some of these.
Horrible night for us matt tonight
I only play the longer odds or shorter if I think they are particularly good value Harry. With a 14/1 winner and a 33/1 place I actually had a reasonably decent night. Finishing fourth at longer odds four times however did not make me happy
Hey Matt
Been following this site for a good while now and just learnt you can send messages so just wanted to say a massive thank you for the all tips – Absolutely love the south American racing and your work makes it even more enjoyable ;-) After the 14/1 winner last night was expecting the big one as had all manner of bets running but also done it singly so paid for the night ! Not sure how you do it but thank you – Although they are cutting the odds much quicker these days lol
Hi Bajjer, good to hear from you and glad you’ve been able to benefit. I think the bookies were let off the hook a bit last night, we had some great prices with decent chances. It didn’t quite come off but we weren’t that far away. The odds being cut quickly has been an issue ever since we put up the 100/1 winner back in 2014. Some of the prices stood up quite well last night, the 33/1 place for example I think was 33/1 SP or thereabouts. Some others though were snapped up very quickly.
Yeah sick that was I lost small on the night what’s conception looking like any standouts
Looks a lot less exciting but I think we’ll do ok. Average prices aren’t huge but two or three of those at 5/1 upwards would see us right.
Haha I don’t quite go that far back ! think ive been following for around 3 years now, Been so close to massive payouts on a few occasions but the day will come ;-) Just glad ive finally go the chance to say thank you !
Yes its strange how on certain days they cut in seconds and other days the odds can be got for a good 10 minutes – Also like the 20/1 shots in the final 4 races were available for most of the day where as others get cut instantly – Very strange. Not a big fan of conception as it seems a lottery out the stalls its like watching rodeo as the gates open :-)
I tend to bet singly on the races when watching comparing Tote to UK and backing what is the biggest discrepancy (Do ok on that) Especially at Las Pierdas and trying to back all yours in multiples – covers most bases !
Sorry finally how did Aquillino run last night that was a massive price it seemed ?and I had it in a double with Socio but was out so didn’t have a chance to watch it I was quietly confident I was on for a big payout but it didn’t hit the frame so not sure how far away it was.
I think the difference now is that bet365 follow the money and so it doesn’t entirely match what we’re doing whereas PP used to monitor the website specifically.
You’re right about Concepcion, its often make or break at the start with lots of hard luck stories. The bend there causes lots of problems too. That said, we’ve done really well there of late and now that Santiago is back the fields are thinning out a bit and it is a little more reliable.
I like to play the live markets too. It can be risky and takes experience to judge the markets effectively but is often worthwhile. Some of the local markets are more robust than others and fluctuations more dependable.
Aquilano was well supported on course and was prominent for a long way before tiring. We’re seeing a lot of horses not getting home at Santiago since the restart. Not surprising given that there has been no racing for 5 months. I’m sure that will settle.
Glad it is working out for you, it has certainly been a lot of fun for me in the 7 years I’ve been covering these races now.
