In the absence of fixed odds, value cannot be accurately ascertained and any selections made in these circumstances should be considered as pointers only.

Blimey these companies dont take kindly to winning do they Unibet have already restricted me and i havent even made a withdrawal, Ive probably backed more losers than winners with them so far to. Que Rico was a very decent return last night so not sure if thats whats done it. Do you know if Any others offer odds or is that me done now until my estranged other half decides she likes late night chilean viewing ?
Bookmakers are only interested in paying (ie losing) customers. Unibet have always been very restrictive, they often allowed me only tiny bets even when I wasn’t technically restricted. That really is very quick though without doing anything to draw attention to yourself. It could just be the market you are playing in that makes them wary or perhaps you’ve made your way onto a list. I’ve received restriction mails shortly after sign-up, even before placing any bet. Other options are severely limited. I’ve noticed a couple of minor bookies covering the likes of Monterrico but nothing at all for Chile.
I wasn’t on the ball and missed Que Rico but I did put up Cmino Fiel at 12/1 and that was enough to make it a decent night for me.
Yep completely understand their stance but they should at least give the punter a chance of losing, For all they know i could have just been having a lucky night would expect them to give it at least a week especially when stakes are not exactly earth shatteringly high, All very strange – Looks like i can win up the max of fifty quid with what they are offering me stakes wise.
Haha you know youve made it when you are restricted before even having a bet – i need to get to that Zen like status, They must share your info with other bookmakers in that case ?
To be honest Que Rico was a little lucky, Paff Daddy probably should have won but got a little blocked at a vital moment – They were very slow cutting them so backed both as you tipped the other, so was well covered come the off at the prices they went off at ;-)
Yes checked out the results this morning and thought that would have made you a happy man !
As far as restrictions go £50 isn’t too bad. Similar to my PP limits I think. I would take it. I would take everything you can get, even if it was 50p. I’ve never been a big gambler as such, I just enjoy winning and watching them fumble about while I beat them over and over.
As a kid, I always wanted to be banned by a bookmaker some day, as a measure of success. It’s not all its cracked up to be lol.
They certainly used to share lists. It probably isn’t allowed now under GDPR, perhaps within a group – PP/Betfair, Ladbrokes/Coral but they probably still do it anyway. They can be pretty unscrupulous.
Hi – since you are so generous with your tips etc, I will share with you a way to get round some of the restrictions. I will send the message on this chat in a minute but please will you delete it once you have read it – just in case the bookie in question looks at your website.
At least one of them does (or did) monitor us very closely so yes, absolutely.
Do you mostly play in the shops? It is 40 miles to my nearest but others here may well be able to make use of.
Only as a workaround for restrictions but not always convenient because I am normally working when you put your prices up but yes I have used it quite a few times and no problem with getting on. Can’t get big money on – especially on long shots – but it is normally reasonable.
Trying to figure how practical/worthwhile it would be for me to make a trip. I struggle to get any kind of multiple down these days and that has been so lucrative in the past. There was a time when PP would make prices available in shops much earlier than online. Don’t think it happens at all now,
Last time I was in a shop they had a guy writing the odds on a whiteboard with a marker pen.
Shops a no go for me as I’ve got a small one with another one on the way so I don’t think the Mrs would be to happy 😃 She already thinks I spend far to long on my phone reading lolol Missed the post – I’m pretty sure they do monitor as since I started posting I’ve been black balled.
Hi Matt,
Thanks for your tips, trying for trixies / 4 fold accas mainly. Which bookies release early prices as I have only found B365 but odds cut v fast? Thanks mate
Hi Stu, since PP quit we’re pretty much dependent on bet365, at least as far as Chile goes. You’re right about the prices (mostly) disappearing quickly which is a large part due to our activity.
Matt i think you were probably the reason PP Quit :-)
Stu i got into the habit of 4 selections – Trebles and an Acca and always paid well in the long run on Matts tips – Id also say dont be to wary of the first price cut as more often than not they are still reasonable odds post time, also anything around the 5/1 mark they are not so scared off so those prices tend to stay around far longer
You may be right about PP though I think its absurd. They don’t employ proper traders anymore though just kids playing the exchanges.
Should add when i could get on at the bigger odds id also add doubles to the mix !
Im pretty sure they soon realized you were far more knowledgeable than them and any of their traders with regards SA racing, And as your followers grew they probably realized it was in their interests to quietly drop it,
I agree though its absurd, they are meant to be bookmakers, Its even worse at the tracks when you see the independents moving their prices from Betfair. Drives me mad. In 365s defence at least they let me have a good go at it, Unibets restriction was bonkers, They would have probably won most of the previous nights losses back yesterday as i would have struggled to get a winner last night !
They used to employ some really knowledgeable traders but they are long gone. They knew back in 2014 and spent 5 years faffing about with various methods and restrictions trying to catch up but we always managed to stay ahead of the game. I used to be able to tell different traders apart at PP, based on their timing, pricing style and level of ineptitude. I think we saw the back of a few. Perhaps I’m being a bit harsh, for a long time they were the only ones bold enough to take it on at all but I think if you’re going to set yourself up as a bookmaker then you should be prepared to take a bet.
Last night was quite challenging, a few of the better ones placing rather than winning but I did have a couple of decent winners that regrettably I didn’t put on the board.
Haha thats brilliant but also quite concerning you could tell who the traders were by their idiosyncrasies, thats devotion to the cause :-) That level of commitment is of the scale ! Hope you sent the really bad ones a nice bottle of something in the way of thanks ;-)
Yes completely agree on the Bet aspect it seems all they are interested in nowadays is getting punters to play Casino or Slots on their platforms – Fearless Freddie would be turning,
Closed Unibet but have managed to get on another site that offer odds relatively closely timewise to 365 so will see how that goes –
Yes very tricky especially as they seemed to be more on the ball last night, I Did miss out on Lanzarote though as was 7/1 for an age but they cut it just as x Opened their market Grrrrrr Was one of them occasions when i was refreshing like a whirling dervish. I broke around level on the night and was happy with that as was struggling early but Danette was a big help. Also had a saver on the Big Dream in one faces race – Didnt you put that up recently ?
Do you find your second picks are far more easily backed at the prices you would expect ?
I used to get PP traders sniffing around social media profiles. I think we may have seen off a few.
When you say close timewise to 365 do you mean as in early odds or first show?
Last night didn’t go particularly well for me. A very small loss overall. I wasn’t surprised I thought it was a very disappointing card for Hipo C. You’re right I did put up Big Dream recently, 16/1 I think but then not tonight.
As far as second picks go it depends on how/when I pick them. If I look at the odds and like two equally at 16s and 20s I will put one up but back both. In that case, they are both likely to be cut quickly based on betting activity. Sometimes though, as prices do go quickly, I’ll go with the more obvious at the time and add others later. In that case they can sometimes be more easily backed.
Sorry mean First show they are pretty much in sync with Unibet as to when they open their market, I have already noticed they cut the odds slightly differently though so there may be some opportunities with them, But to be honest its a lot harder now than previously. I can email you who it is but id take a guess you may well already be restricted with them :-)
You were pretty unlucky early on with a run of seconds and a couple looked like they had the race in the bag only to get nutted late on, But thats the game i guess some nights we do the nutting and others get the nutting ! I did think it was but as it was so close to off time i didnt have a chance to go back and look through your recent tips but backed it anyway and luckily it obliged although One Face would have been far more profitable.
Well good luck tonight i hope you bag a few !!
I’m mostly restricted at those that have ever been involved with these market plus a few which I guess just didn’t like my face. I’m not aware of a Unibet type alternative, could be useful.
No worries I’ll send it on here and if you can just delete it ??
That works.
“After a recent trading review, we wish to advise you that your account has had all sports and gaming concessions* removed and stake restrictions may apply moving forward.”
Yep, restricted there lol although its not as severe as some and I do still play. That is a handy trick I was not aware of, thanks. I always find myself refreshing trying to get them to display as I’m pretty sure they should be there.
Haha shame but thought that maybe the case I was surprised they did it !! Only seems like they give odds in Chile though, just gone and got myself a new streaming service which has teletrak on it so can now watch full screen lol
Yes it’s weird and doesn’t seem to do it every race but on a high percentage it does – Defo worth a couple of extra points on certain selections.
Also Did really notice the lag if a race goes of late as you get the prices an age before race time managed to get on your tip ew at 16/1 even though it was 5/1 on course shame it finished 4th !
Good luck tonight.
Which streaming service did you get it on? I used to have it on satellite some time ago, can be useful especially when the feed plays up.
They don’t always win but if you can keep getting 16/1 about 5/1 chances you’ll do just fine. Good luck.
